Thailand FAM Itinerary

Day 1: A seamless start with Thai Airways

The FAM trip began at London Heathrow, where the small but excited group of three agents met with Betsie from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). With an itinerary promising luxury at every turn, the journey itself set the tone, starting with Thai Airways’ renowned Business Class experience.

Before departure, the group relaxed in the airline’s premium lounge, an oasis of calm away from the airport bustle. Here, they enjoyed a selection of international dishes, barista-made coffee, and a well-stocked bar. Comfortable seating, workspaces, and shower facilities ensured they could refresh before the long-haul flight ahead.

Boarding Thai Airways flight TG919, the team was warmly welcomed by the impeccably dressed cabin crew, whose signature hospitality made them feel instantly at ease. The Business Class cabin exuded comfort, with spacious lie-flat seats, plush bedding, and ample storage space for personal belongings. Shortly after take-off, the dining experience began – a carefully curated menu featuring Thai flavours and international cuisine, paired with fine wines and a selection of premium beverages.

Settling in for the overnight journey, the group made the most of the in-flight entertainment, offering a wide range of films, TV shows, and music. But it was the quiet cabin atmosphere and fully reclining seats that truly made the difference, ensuring everyone arrived in Phuket feeling refreshed and ready for the experiences ahead.

Day 2: A luxurious welcome to Thailand

Touching down in Phuket just after sunrise, the group took in their first glimpse of Thailand—lush greenery, golden beaches, and the shimmering Andaman Sea. Stepping off the plane, they were met with the warm tropical air, a stark contrast to the winter chill they had left behind. A smooth transition through immigration and baggage claim meant they were soon en route to their first stop: COMO Point Yamu.

Nestled on the tranquil Cape Yamu, this luxury retreat offered the perfect place to unwind. The team was welcomed with chilled towels and refreshing herbal drinks, a signature COMO touch. After a seamless check-in, they settled into their light-filled rooms, each with panoramic views of Phang Nga Bay.

In the afternoon, a resort tour highlighted COMO’s standout features, from the infinity pool to the world-class wellness facilities. As the sun set, cocktails by the pool led into an intimate private dinner, where a specially curated chef’s menu set the tone for the days ahead.

Day 3: Island escapes and exclusive resort experiences

The first full day in Thailand promised adventure, and after a restful night at COMO Point Yamu, the group set off early for a private yacht excursion with Blue Voyage. A short transfer brought them to Visit Panwa Pier, where their sleek yacht awaited. With the morning sun casting a golden glow over the water, they embarked on a luxury island-hopping experience.

The first stop was Khai Nok Island, a picture-perfect paradise with powdery white sand and crystal-clear waters. Some lounged on the yacht’s deck with a picnic set, while others swam and snorkelled among colourful coral reefs. By late morning, the yacht glided back to Phuket, though a wet-weather alternative – a visit to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary – had been planned if needed.

After a leisurely afternoon, the group transferred to Banyan Tree Phuket for a private site inspection, followed by a dinner with travel writer Roy Cavanagh. A quick stop at Bangla Road rounded off the night before returning to COMO Point Yamu.

Day 4: Scenic journeys and a luxurious retreat in Krabi

The day began with an early departure from COMO Point Yamu as the group set off on a scenic drive through Phang Nga province towards Krabi. The route, winding along coastal roads and lush rural landscapes, offered stunning views at every turn. A highlight of the journey was a stop at Samet Nangshee Viewpoint, where a short ride up the hill revealed panoramic views of Phang Nga Bay. The dramatic limestone karsts rising from the emerald waters provided the perfect backdrop for photos.

By early afternoon, the group arrived in Krabi and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Ruenmai Krabi Restaurant, a hidden gem known for its authentic southern Thai cuisine. Set within tropical gardens, the restaurant served fragrant curries, fresh seafood, and coconut-infused dishes that left everyone thoroughly satisfied.

Afterward, the group continued to Banyan Tree Krabi, a luxurious resort nestled between lush jungle and the Andaman Sea. The check-in process was seamless, and each guest was escorted to their private villa, complete with a plunge pool and ocean views. The rest of the afternoon was spent leisurely exploring the resort, unwinding by the infinity pool, or enjoying a spa treatment.

As the sun set, the group gathered for a dinner featuring fresh local ingredients, a fitting end to a day of relaxation and indulgence. Tomorrow, another adventure awaited.

Day 5: Exploring the Andaman Sea – A private Phi Phi Islands experience

The day began with excitement as the group left Banyan Tree Krabi for a private speedboat trip to the Phi Phi Islands, one of Thailand’s most iconic destinations. A short transfer to the pier led them to their sleek boat, ready to cruise across the shimmering Andaman Sea.

The first stop was Maya Bay, famous for The Beach. Though boats can no longer dock, the group admired the towering limestone cliffs and pristine shoreline from afar, capturing the breathtaking scenery. From there, the boat continued to more secluded locations where the group enjoyed swimming and snorkelling, immersing themselves in the region’s natural beauty.

A highlight of the day was a beachside lunch at a hidden cove, where they savoured freshly grilled seafood, tropical fruits, and vibrant Thai salads. The warm sun, soft sand, and clear waters created an unforgettable dining experience.

By mid-afternoon, the group returned to the pier and made their way back to Banyan Tree Krabi, where some relaxed in their private pools, while others enjoyed rejuvenating treatments at the Banyan Tree Spa.

As evening fell, they travelled to Ao Nang for a seafood feast at Wangsai Seafood Restaurant. Over dishes of grilled fish, prawns, and Thai curries, they shared stories of the day’s adventures. Afterward, they returned to the resort, eager for their next destination: Bangkok.

Day 6: From beachfront bliss to the bustle of Bangkok

The morning began at a relaxed pace, with the group enjoying a leisurely breakfast at Banyan Tree Krabi. There was no rush to check out, so they savored tropical fruits, freshly baked pastries, and traditional Thai dishes while taking in the last views of Krabi’s serene coastline.

By mid-morning, it was time to depart. After checking out, the group headed to Krabi Airport for their Thai Airways flight to Bangkok. The short flight was smooth, and just over an hour later, the vibrant capital of Thailand came into view.

Upon arrival, a private transfer whisked the group to The Peninsula Bangkok, a luxurious riverside retreat. After a swift check-in, each guest was escorted to their elegantly designed rooms, offering stunning views of the city skyline and Chao Phraya River. After some time to relax, they prepared for the evening’s activities.

Dressed for an unforgettable night, the group boarded The Peninsula’s private water limousine, cruising across the river to Supanniga Eating House, where they enjoyed refined Thai home-style cooking, rich in heritage and flavour.

The night continued with a visit to Wat Pho, where the group marvelled at the grand architecture and intricate carvings, bathed in the soft glow of temple lanterns. The peaceful atmosphere offered a stark contrast to the lively streets nearby. Afterward, a tuk-tuk ride returned them to the hotel, ready for the adventures of tomorrow.

Day 7: A day of business and cultural discovery in Bangkok

The morning began at The Peninsula Bangkok, where the group gathered at River Café & Terrace for breakfast, enjoying freshly baked pastries, tropical fruits, and classic Thai dishes, with the Chao Phraya River as a stunning backdrop. As the day’s schedule was more formal, business attire was recommended for the first part of the day.

After breakfast, the agents attended the Thai Airways ‘THAI Update’ session at the Sakuntala Ballroom, learning about the airline’s latest developments, new routes, and service enhancements. A mid-morning coffee break provided an opportunity for networking before the next round of talks.

The guest speaker session featured representatives from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), offering insights into Thailand’s tourism industry, with a focus on luxury and MICE travel. The session concluded with a Q&A, allowing agents to deepen their understanding of Thailand as a high-end travel destination.

Lunch followed back at River Café & Terrace, giving the group a chance to reflect on the morning. In the afternoon, the agents explored Talad Noi, Bangkok’s ‘Little Chinatown,’ discovering its heritage, local businesses, and vibrant street art.

The day ended with a sunset Chao Phraya River dinner cruise, where they dined on Thai delicacies while admiring iconic landmarks. Returning to the hotel, the group reflected on a day filled with cultural discovery and luxury.

Day 8 & 9: A final day of business, Bangkok’s riverside elegance and flight home

The final day in Thailand began with a relaxed breakfast at River Café & Terrace at The Peninsula Bangkok. The group enjoyed freshly made pastries, tropical fruits, and traditional Thai breakfast dishes while soaking in the serene riverside setting, preparing for a busy morning ahead.

Dressed in business attire, the agents attended their last formal session at Kusuma Venue, where they met with Thai Airways Commercial Management. This insightful discussion provided a closer look at the airline’s future strategies, travel trends, and luxury experiences, rounding out the business portion of the trip and offering valuable insights into the airline’s commitment to premium travel.

Lunch was served back at River Café & Terrace, offering one final opportunity to savor the hotel’s renowned riverside dining. Afterward, the group enjoyed some free time, with many visiting ICONSIAM, Bangkok’s premier shopping destination. Some explored high-end boutiques and artisan stores, while others took in the vibrant atmosphere of this iconic retail hub.

As the evening approached, the group gathered for their farewell dinner at The Peninsula Lawn, overlooking the Chao Phraya River.
